Can anyone help me on this?

My sister in law will be in a wedding in April 2003, she has asked me to locate silk flowers for her, thats not a problem, the problem I am having is the flowers MUST be turquois, it does not matter what type of flower they are as long as they are turquois, I cant find any this color, if anyone out there knows where I can buy these ( cheap ) please let me know as they will be for all the bridesmaids. If you have some lying around, please let me know as well.

Thank you for all the help, I appreciate that We have checked Walmart, and Michaels and I think she has checked just about everywhere else, like flower shops with no luck.

thanks!!!

Question

This is just an idea, although I can not guarantee it would work: I know that florists spray paint the tips of white carnations and various flowers for a very nice effect. Perhaps you could buy white silk flowers, and turquoise spray paint. Has anyone else out there ever tried this with success?

Change the color

Electric Chameleon was right. You can spray paint silk flowers.
Here is a site you might want to check out.

Coloring Silk Flowers
Cindy Piccoli gives new life to plain, dull silk flowers by simply spraying them with paint.

Use a water-based floral spray paint on any flowers made of a porous fabric. Water-based floral paints are not toxic or flammable like regular spray paints, and they don't make the silk stiff, as many other paints do. If you are buying flowers specifically to paint them, look for the low-cost white petals rather than the more expensive colored ones.

Steps:

Shake the can of paint for one minute, then spray each flower lightly. If the color is too intense, spray the wet paint with water to dilute it.
Let each flower dry for 30 minutes, or use a hair dryer for faster results.
To add a second color to the edges of the petals, spray the paint into a pan or bowl, and dip the edges of the petals into it. To soften the color, spray the flower with water.

Yes, you can spray paint silk flowers . I have done this before in a peacock blue that i needed. DO NOT USE cheap spray paint get a better one from a craft store or it will look bad. Becareful because some paints will eat the plastic . Good luck!!!

I was going to suggest trying RIT dye on the silk flowers - experiment with "painting" it on or putting it in a spray bottle.
