I have a small table that's no longer any good & the top is blue colored glass- I think the glass is really pretty. Does anyone have any ideas abt. what could be done w/the glass?? I really hate to just throw it out!! thanks in advance for any suggestions!

You could try to etch it and have someone make a wooden frame.
http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/glassetching/ has a lot of links on how to etch glass. ![]() |

Depending on how dark the glass is, you could buy one of those round wooden tables, arrange pictures, concert tickets, or even mementos from a vacation under the glass to display it.
Another idea I've seen is to find a way to break the glass into large chunks, arrange on a tabletop, then use tile grout to make a mosaic looking tabletop, or even use the glass in a similar fashion to decorate pillar candles (glue onto the candle one side at a time - beware - the pieces WILL slide! - and then use the tile grout to surround the glass, and wipe it off if you get it on the glass. Once dry, burn the candle. It will burn down and you'll be left with a beautiful votive or tea light holder! |
