Where should I start?
Well I've made costumes in the past....but that was a while ago. But I would like to learn how to make clothes....good, sturdy, everyday clothes. I'm tired of buying clothes that don't fit me right or don't look the way I envision it in my head. Can anyone tell me the best way to start and the best kind of sewing machine to buy and give me any tips to make it easier? I think you guys are my only hope here and I hear that ya'll are incredible. Thanks in advance!!!

I would suggest you start with the Easy Sew patterns. Each company that makes patterns calls them something different. I do a lot of sewing, mostly crafts, quilts and dresses for the granddaughters. I bought a Kenmore sewing machine (from Sears) which is just a basic machine (not a lot of bells and whistles). Of course all of this depends on your sewing skill level and what works for you. Good luck.
