Cool Halloween Help.....please!

I am hoping that by posting here I can get some ideas. I am usually a creative person...but I am stuck on this one. I am the room mom for a multi-age class (first and second graders). I was asked by the teacher to come up with some ideas for a craft. Each of the 6 m/a classes rotate to do different projects. Last year they did the "popcorn in the glove" thingy...whatever it's called and she said she didn't want that again. Then she's already done, having the kids decorate cookies with icing and said that was too messy. And we are not allowed to do anything with lollipops at the school, so that rules out the "easy" lollipop ghosts and spiders.
Although I was hoping for an easy "edible" craft for the kids, I am open to different ideas that you may have. As long as it is easy enough for 1st and 2nd graders.
I really appreciate any help that I can get from my BBS family!
Thanks!

I cant think of much...hope these might help a little

You could have them decorate bags to take out trick or treating..have the parents supply a pillow case for each stuent..or you could do it with the handled bags at grcery stores...

also you could have them make ghosts or things like that with pencils something along those lines

If they use paints or parkers or anything they could decorate old cans with paint and other things pipe cleaners fuzz balls whatever you can come up with! They could be used as banks, pencil holder ect!

I know these are silly (stupid) ideas..but you have me stumpted im usually very creative and i just cant think of anything! But if i can think of anything else i will surely post!

I really liked the trick or treat bags idea, and spider pencil tops can be made using puff balls and pipe cleaners.
My girls always enjoy making their own jointed skeletons, using white construction paper and brads at the joints to make them poseable.
Each year we also make paper stencils to use to carve the pumpkin, draw the desired face and cut it out, Then trace it onto the pumpkin with black marker.
I have a body marker set we are going to use this year to design our own wash-off tattoos, you could have them create stencils and use washable markers, or maybe not if you are working with other people's kids...
When I remember any of the other crafts we did at halloween, I will let you know.

umm.................

you could have them make masks out of paper grocery bags, or how about slime (the teacher might not like that one) i have seen recipes for this on the net somewhere. make scarey mobiles out of chicken bones. make witch/wizard hats and decorate them wands etc. or heres a great one make orange jackolanterns just take an orange and hollow it out and make scarey faces on it(adult supervision) or fill them with jellow and chill then carve out a face.

ok i have it(had to look at my halloween book)
creepy mobile
have them all bring in a bunch of twigs and small sticks and then tie them together and have them draw halloween art to hang off of strings to make a mobile

variations:
maybe glow in the dark paint
glitter
holographic eyes

hope this helps
