Patriotic Crafts...
Make a Patriotic Pin Stars & Tassels Pin Supplies: Bar Pin (3) 1" acrylic jewel Stars, one each of Red, Clear & Blue (3) Small Tassels, one each in Red, White & Blue Hot Glue Gun Directions: Apply a small dollop of hot glue to the left side of the bar pin and quickly press RED star on top. Place the BLUE star on the right using the same technique. Then add the WHITE star in the middle. It will "float" over the top of the side stars, so be sure to use enough hot glue. To reinforce the pin, add a thin line of hot glue to the back of the stars, just above the top of the bar pin. To add the tassels, place a small dollop of glue on the bottom, backside of the RED star and press the RED tassel into place. Repeat for corresponding colors. Stars of Support Pin Supplies: Bar Pin (3) 1" acrylic jewel Stars, in Clear (1) package assorted ¼" acrylic jewel Stars, use two each Red & Blue Hot Glue Gun Directions: Apply a small dollop of hot glue to the left side of the bar pin and quickly press a large star on top. Place the next large star on the right using the same technique. Then add the final large star in the middle. It will "float" over the top of the side stars, so be sure to use enough hot glue. Reinforce the pin by adding a thin line of hot glue to the back of the stars, just above the top of the bar pin. Following example in picture, attach the small stars with a small dollop of hot glue. Beaded Flag Pin Supplies: (1) large, silver safety pin (8) small, silver safety pins Seed beads in Red, White & Blue Pliers Directions: Thread a small safety pin with only RED and WHITE beads. Start with RED and alternate colors until you have nine (9) beads on the safety pin. Close clasp and set aside. Make three more for a total of four. Thread a safety pin with RED, WHITE and BLUE beads in this order: BLUE, WHITE, BLUE, WHITE, BLUE, WHITE, RED, WHITE, and RED. Close clasp and set aside. Make three more for a total of four. Take large safety pin and using pliers or other tool, spread coiled end of pin apart far enough to slide/wind the coiled ends of the small pins around to the topside of the large pin. Put them on in this order: four RED/WHITE pins followed by the four RED/WHITE/BLUE. Use pliers to squeeze the coiled end of the large safety pin back together. Patriotic Popsicle Pin Supplies: One bag of miniature popsicle sticks Bar Pin Small square of craft wood or think cardboard Craft Paint in Red, White and Blue Sponge or Paint Brush Paint Pen in White Craft Glue or Hot Glue Directions: Use picture 1 as an example for painting the five popsicle sticks: paint one WHITE, paint one RED, paint one 1/3 BLUE and the remainder WHITE, and paint two 1/3 BLUE and the remainder RED. When paint dries arrange popsicle sticks to look like a flag. Flip them over, and glue the small square of wood or cardboard to the back of the painted popsicle sticks (see picture 2). Glue on bar pin. When glue dries, take WHITE paint pen and dot onto BLUE to simulate stars.
