If you're having a hard time finding the ribbon you need to make a pin, try using pipe cleaners. That is if you can find them in red white and blue. I already had some in my craft things and they turned out pretty good.
I took the three pipe cleaners and braided them together, then tied them together in the middle with a yellow ribbon. Then just attached a safety pin to the back of it and it should work good to show your patriotism.
All you need is one safety pin (medium or large)
three pipe cleaners in red, white and blue ( you can make two with one full length piece)
and some yellow ribbon ( I've seen that this is relatively easy to find in stores)
thanx for the craft post i used red, white, blue yarn...did a chain stitch, then braided the 3 colors. made crocheted 'ribbons'. put a small safety pin in the back. not ribbon or flags anywha=ere in our area for at least 3 weeks. know many of you know about Oriental Trading Co. after the holiday catalogs, the regular catalogs have a decent section of patriotic items...flags, pencils, stickers, banners, visor, etc. cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just tried Oriental Trading Company and ALL their flags are sold out! Our village is having a big celebration next summer and I ordered some patriotic items about a month ago. Went back tonight to order more and everything's gone! I should have ordered more when I had the chance!
