Make @ home Doggie Treats!
Just in time for the Holidays!
These all 100% Natural so you have to keep them wrapped up tight in the fridge! And the recipes have all been personally tested by my 3 weinerdogs, Zowy Chloe & Joey ![]() And Finster my 12-year-old cat likes them all too! Tuna Biscuits · 1 cup yellow cornmeal · 1 cup oatmeal · 1/4 tsp. baking powder · 1/2 tsp. garlic powder · 1 small can tuna in oil , undrained · 1/3 cup water Grind oatmeal in processor to make a coarse flour. Set aside in small bowl. In food processor, whirl tuna with the oil, and water then add all the rest of ingredient. Pulse til mixture forms a ball, Pulse to knead for 2-3 minutes. Knead on floured surface till it forms a soft ball of dough. Roll out to a 1/8"-1/4" thickness. Cut into shapes. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 350F for 20-25 minutes. Cool completely. Store in ziplock bags or another airtight container in the fridge. Liver Treats · 1 lb. pureed liver · 2 cups corn meal · 1 cup flour · dash garlic salt or powder Puree Liver and mix well in large mixing bowl with other ingredients. (Mixture will be tough) Roll out on a floured or lined baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 350F. Cut into small pieces and cool. Keep in ziplock bag or other sealed container in fridge. Peanut Butter Puppy Poppers · 2 cups whole-wheat flour · 1 tbsp. baking powder · 1 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth) · 1 cup milk Preheat oven to 350F. In a bowl, combine flour and baking powder. In another bowl, mix peanut butter and milk, then add to dry ingredients and mix well. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Bake for 20 minutes on a greased baking sheet until lightly brown. Cool on a rack, then store in an airtight container. -- Watch them after 15 minutes, I have found they can burn easily. Bacon Bites 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled 4 eggs, well beaten 1/8 cup bacon fat 1 cup water 1/2 cup non-fat dry milk powder 2 cup graham flour 2 cup wheat germ 1/2 cup cornmeal Mix ingredients with a strong spoon; drop heaping tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet. Bake in a 350F oven for 15 minutes. Turn off oven and leave cookies on baking sheet in the oven overnight to dry out. Last edited by sheenajungle : 09-19-2001 at 01:26 PM. |

Sheena,
Thank you so much for these! I work in at a Vet Clinic and am planning on putting these in our newsletter. I will be sure to give you the credit for them as well. I think our clients will love these! Thanks again!
