60 second patriotic friendship bracelet to make

Was thinking (yes, again!) and remembered when my daughter was in Junior High and the floss friendship bracelets were the rage. Dug up some floss, and knotted a few, then remembered this easy, quick one.

Take 3 strands of red, white and blue floss, 30" or so long. ( have small wrists, this is way long enough for me, adjust if your wriss are larger) Knot 1" from the end, and tape down to table. Twist the strands in the same direction, repeatedly until wound VERY tight, VERY tight. Grab in the center and fold it in half. If you have it tight enough it will 'twist' back on itself. (you can tell if it's tight enough or not) Let go of the center and let it twist on itself. Knot ends together, tie on wrist and VOILA!

Make this longer if you want it an anklet, or shorter for a ring.

Easy. Nothing to attempt! Just twist! I made 20 for my daycare kidlets, mom, sister and daughter in 10 minutes! There's more involved ones, require knotting, that are cool too if you want directions for those.

jaybird, i tend to mess up the easiest things sometimes. if you feel like posting directions to the other types, i will try those too - if not, i am sure this will keep me busy for a while.

OMG....i rem. how to do those and the ones where you take several strings and do the knots to make a flat bracelet....we used to walk around school with a safety pin pinned to our pant leg with strings hanging off so we could work on it while waiting for class to start...lol....good ol' days.... thanks for making me smile today...hugs
