I have one, it is very difficult to fill. you need to hold it at an angle, and slowly add water. It takes a long time. You need to push the end of the tube into the dirt. It sounds like you are ripping the roots. I cant imagine it is good for the plant. Even after completely watering the plant, then inserting the bulb, it only lasts a day or so. It is pretty, but not very functional.
If you still want to try them, i think I saw a 2 pack for 9.99 at bed bath and beyond, and you can use a 20% coupon on them. good luck!
