They approved it as being 1 lot, so he gets his homestead exemption on both. The house was built in 1928.. the sunroom was added in 1930..
We tried writing , calling and emailing the tax assessor, filed 3 appeals (in the 2 years we've owned this house) we HAVE to hire a surveyor, there is no other way around it..
What pisses me off that not ONE of the previous people who lived here had this done.. I am wondering if they all had that type of money to throw around on the taxes..
And yep, if we get the lots merged we will qualify for the exemption.. Hiring a surveyor is anywhere from 5hundred to a thousand bucks.. We just shelled out 3thousand on the chimneys and brick work.. so it has to wait.
