As I understand it, the had a trial in 1982 at which he was found guilty and sentenced to Death. Due to much uproar a second trial was held in 1995 and he was - again - found guilty. In 2001 a Federal Judge overturned Abu-Jamal's death sentence in the case, but not the guilty VERDICTS ( plural ) that were the judgement of two seperate juries.
Do you just keep asking for a re-trial until you get the verdict you want ?
