I received the following e-mail from Lightspeed today. I am not very good at keeping up with what checks are owed to me. I had received a replacement check for this check. Lightspeed had told me that my first check had been returned to them because of the wrong address. I guess they were wrong about that or someone resent the check later. They have given me 1,000 points, so I am very happy with them.


We apologize for the length of time it has taken us to send you an email response, but we took your email very seriously and wanted to make sure we researched your problem as thoroughly as possible.
We received an email from you on April 5 stating that you did not receive a check. If someone does not receive a check within four weeks, it typically means that the check never arrived at their correct address. If they notify us that the check was not received, we ask them to send us their mailing address so we can verify whether or not the check was sent to the correct email address. We also explain in our email that we will cancel the check and send a new check. We do this to ensure our panelists do receive their incentives. We do not cancel checks unless we replace them with a new check.
According to our records, you did receive your new check and cashed it. You also received the old check and tried to cash that as well. However, since we cancelled the old check and replaced it with the new check, the old check did not go through.
We reviewed our email correspondence with you and discovered that we never did in fact let you know the old check was cancelled. Because of this oversight, we have deposited 1,000 Lightspeed Points into your account. We know that you have been a panelist with us for a long time, and we wanted you to know that we appreciate that. If you have any further questions, please send me an email.
