Keep fighting this! I am not an attorney, but just went through this last year. They can decide not to accept payment( because it is not payment in full. They want you to pay all back money owed, plus lawyer fees). If you live in the house, you have up to 4 days before it is sold to buy it back. (This may be different for different states, but it is days.) I managed to work out a deal a week and half before mine was set to be auctioned. The mortgage co. refused to speak to me, because I was behind in my payments, but when they put the place in foreclosure and actually filed with the county(they have to wait at least 120 days after notifying you before they can do anything else or take the next step), I had to deal directly with their lawyer. He was reasonable and we worked out a deal, which the co. accepted. I was a year behind in payments at that point.
Hang in there - you have time - they want you to think you don't, but it's a really slow process. The longer you stay in the house, the better your chances of keeping it. You can write your own letters and make your own calls. Let their attorney know you want to work it out.
Hope this helps a little, I learned it through trial and error.
