Wow, I work part time, go to school full time, and have two kids. I take care of the house and whatnot. If I am home hubby may ask me to make him some lunch but those are far and few betweeen so I don't mind. I don't make him breakfast. I only get the coffeepot ready the evening before. He gets a good dinner. Other than that he does for himself because he knows I have the kids and house to look after. He goes to work at 7:30 in the morning and does not get home until 6:30 - 7:00 at night so I don't mind the house stuff. He works six days a week and will barbeque on his day off. He does not expect too much from me and would never act like such a child. I agree with the others and your own suggestion. Let him take care of stuff himself. he will get the picture and appreciate you more because of it, hopefully!!
